The Cedar House Charitable Trust (‘CHCT’) endeavours to protect your data and privacy. This privacy notice was updated on 29th April 2024. CHCT keeps its privacy notice under review.

CHCT is a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) founded in 2022. Its Registered Charity Number is 1198944.

How we obtain personal information and why

You don’t have to supply us with any information when you use our website. If you choose to apply for a grant using our online application form and/or accept any grant made, you give us permission to process your personal information.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary agreement and permission of any individuals identified in your application to pass their information to us. This includes permission to use any photographs included in the application or grant reports sent to us.

We will use the information you provide for the purposes of assessing a grant application, including to ensure that applications for support are genuine, to enable us to contact you regarding your appeal and managing or monitoring any grant made. We may also process personal data for the purposes of organising meetings related to CHCT’s grant-making activities.

We will not sell personal data to third parties and we do not engage in direct marketing.

All the personal data we collect is processed in the UK by those indicated below. The Cedar House Charitable Trust uses Google Drive (secure cloud-based data storage) accessible with use of passcodes. However, we cannot guarantee that Google Drive security will not be illegally breached. The information you provide to CHCT may be processed and stored in countries or international organisations outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).

Retention of your data

We will generally not keep a record of information relating to any queries or a record of any personal or grant related information once there has been a gap in correspondence of over three years.

Who will see your data

Your information may, for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, be disclosed for processing to:

  • CHCT’s Trustees
  • third party consultants, contractors or other service providers who may access your personal information when providing services (such as IT support services and external advisers) to CHCT
  • government bodies and law enforcement agencies and in response to other legal and regulatory requests.
  • auditors for example, plus contractors or consultants or other professionals assisting with or advising on any of CHCT’s needs, meeting statutory requirements in providing information

We publish summary information on organisations that have received grants from us in our annual accounts and on our website. Summary information may include the name of the organisation and the amount and purpose of the grant awarded.
